What is a Relaxation Massage?

A relaxation massage is a real boon for the whole body. An alternation of long smooth strokes and short, focused grips plus other movement techniques ensures that your whole body is completely relaxed. Naturally I do not do anything without consultation with the patient; you can indicate specific focus areas. Personally I prefer the handle the body as a whole, because local blockages/ painful areas are always related to/ are always in contact with other parts of the body. Sources of potential blockages are not always located in the painful part itself; the whole body consists of one interconnected organism. Cells react to one another; if there  is a disturbance in one particular part, this also affects other parts because the circulation has been obstructed.

Relaxation massage can also be used as a form of prevention; what about after a hard day’s work, or to make sure that you begin your days alert and relaxed.

Pain is by no means the only reason to treat yourself to a massage! Every so often it is a real treat and a benefit for your general health.

What is a Pregnancy Massage?

Massage during pregnancy offers you the opportunity to be able to relax yourself while lying on your side. Supported by comfortable cushions, you will be able to enjoy a complete relaxation massage, adapted to your pregnant body. Head, necks, shoulders, back, lower back, arms legs, feet… and perhaps your belly. The massage can be adjusted to what you want and can be adapted to your personal preferences. A whole hour’s attention just for you.

What is a Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep tissue massage is focused on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, lower back tightness, and sore shoulders. Through slower strokes and more direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles, tension will be released.

One of the best benefits of a deep tissue massage is the increased blood flow it causes. Because of direct pressure on the muscles, the blood circulation increases throughout your body. As a result, increased blood flow boosts the oxygen supply to all of the tissues. With more oxygen circulating in the blood, toxins such as lactic acid are removed from your muscles at a higher rate.

Another positive benefit of deep tissue massages is stress relief. The forceful and firm pressure forces the body to relax and ultimately relieve tension. Flushing out toxins also helps to put the body and the mind into a more relaxed state. This can more easily lead to physical relaxation of stiff muscles.

Deep tissue massage usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage.

If you are someone who has a busy work life, who travels a lot, or who has tension in some body parts, a monthly or even bi-monthly deep tissue massage can do wonders for your long-term relaxation and mood.
